It’s 2020, this blog has been alive for almost 10 years now (jeez when did that happen?!) and y’know what, I’m not going to let it keep being all quiet like this!  I’m resurrecting this blog and will from now on actually post on a regular basis and not just when I have the time and/or energy.  I’ve got a backlog of reviews long enough to last me like a year minimum so I am going to post them!!

You may be wondering why I’ve been so quiet.  Well, I guess there’s a bunch of reasons.  My health has finally been good enough for me to start uni – English Lit & Creative Writing joint major here, hi!  After two years of part-time, I’m finally going full-time next year and I’m really excited about it.

I’ve picked up a bunch of new craft hobbies – honestly, it’s a little out of control!  I’ve got super into my cross-stitch, become obsessed with all things resin and I’m currently teaching myself how to digitally draw (it’s having mixed results and is way harder than the other two!)  I’ve also recently got a Cricut machine and I’m so head over heels with this thing it’s untrue.

I’m still writing – reviews, stories, fanfic, poems.  Mostly poems lately, to be honest.  I took two poetry modules last year and I just adore it – I’ve been having so much fun with it.  At some point, I may post some of my poetry here too so don’t be surprised if that happens somewhere down the line!

And I’m now an Inclusion Ambassador for Inclusive Minds.  Anyone who’s met me IRL on the blogosphere or has read my pieces on The Guardian knows I’m a wheelchair user and have been since the age of 12.  I’ve had a neurological condition since I was 3 that relapsed on and off over the course of my childhood.  It means so much to me that I now get to talk to publishers, authors and other Ambassadors about my experiences and why I’m so freaking desperate for more authentic wheelchair-user representation in kids’ books and the YA genre.  I’ll definitely be posting more disability-related stuff on my blog from now on because it seriously is just a huge passion of mine to ensure kids like me see themselves in all manners of books they read.

The whole point of this little ramble is basically to say sorry to my blog and to try and convince it I haven’t been totally useless while I’ve neglected it.  Fairly useless, but not totally!  Basically, I’m just really looking forward to posting again – I finally just feel the desire and urge to post and review and talk and I’m so glad my blog is still here.  I’m ridiculously happy to be back!
